Metacritic
Sadly, Metacritic has not assigned a rating to Metacritic. Now that would be meta.
Recently Metacritic has expanded its mission to calculate aggregate ratings for TV, movies, music, and video games; now they also rate misplaced web pages.
For example, each of the following websites:
- A for-profit site focused on extreme bicycle racing (the for-profit site)
- A non-profit site about the active cough suppressant in Nyquil (the non-profit site)
- A political site run by the powers overseeing a New York borough (the political site)
- A school site in the Chinese district once known as The Grape Town (the school site)
- An informational site about the disappearance of species from the earth (the informational site)
- A network site based on Jon Chu's online dance series (the network site)
- An official site for a television show about the process of reversing demon possession (the television site)
improbably hosts one of the pages below:
- A page about a chemical used to bleach hair (the chemical page)
- A page about a horse given as a gift along with Balius (the horse page)
- A page about a plant used to make digoxin (the plant page)
- A page about a resin used in adhesives and coatings (the resin page)
- A page about a sitcom featuring Tony Danza (the sitcom page)
- A page about a soccer team based in Los Angeles (the soccer page)
- A page about a tool used by miners with pointed and flat ends (the tool page)
The new ratings (integer scores from 0 to 100) are still in closed beta, but the information below should be enough for you to determine how these pages fared.
- The tool page, which is hosted by either the non-profit site or the network site, received a rating that is 4 less than three times the for-profit site page rating.
- The school site page rating is 1 less than double the chemical page rating, which is exactly three times the network site page rating.
- The non-profit site page rating is 1 less than the sum of the ratings for the plant page and the political site page.
- The page on the informational site (which is not the resin page) has a rating that is 1 more than double the soccer page rating.
- If the digits in the school site page rating were reversed, the resulting number would be less than half of the television site page rating, which is equal to exactly two-thirds of the horse page rating, which is in turn 11 less than the non-profit site page rating.
- The only three pages that received even-numbered ratings are the network site page, the political site page, and the chemical page.
