The Department of Mathematics has an opening for a junior level position for Tamarkin Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2013.
The Tamarkin Assistant Professorship provides promising mathematicians the opportunity to begin their careers in an active and stimulating environment, with attractive teaching assignments and with ample opportunity for contact with senior research mathematicians. We anticipate hiring one Tamarkin Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2013. The teaching load is one course one semester, and two courses the other semester, and consists of courses of more than routine interest. Applicants should have strong research potential and a commitment to teaching. Field of research should be consonant with the current research interests of the department. Appointments are for three years, non-tenured and non-renewable. Candidates are required to have received a Ph.D. degree or equivalent by the start of this appointment, and they may have up to three years of prior academic and/or postdoctoral research experience.
