Text : Introduction to Linear Algebra, 3rd Edition by Gilbert Strang. ISBN 0961408898.

Course Description : In this course we will discuss vector spaces, matrices, and linear transformations, covering chapters 1 - 7 of the text.

Course Requirements : You are required to hand in the homework every week, take the quizzes, midterms and the final. Students are expected to attend every class. It is your responsibility to obtain lecture notes and other materials from your peers should you miss a class.

Homework : Homework will be assigned each class and collected at the beginning of Thursday's class. There will be short quizzes at the beginning of Thursday's class every other week. It is very important to complete homework daily in order not to fall behind. Late homeworks will not be accepted.

Collaboration : You can talk to each other about any of the homework problems, but when you write up the problems to be handed in, you must work alone.

Exams : There will be two midterms and one final exam.
No make-ups will be given for missed quizzes and exams; any student who misses an exam without a note from a doctor or dean will receive a grade of zero for that exam. If you must miss an exam, you are required to notify me of your dean or doctor's name and contact information BEFORE the beginning of the exam.

Grading : Grades will be calculated as follows: Books and calculators of any kind will not be allowed in exams.
