“Linear Algebra with Applications”(fourth edition) by Otto Bretscher.

 

Course description in short

 

We will cover chapters 1 through 8, skipping sections 5.5, 7.5, 7.6. That is, we’ll cover: systems of linear equations, linear transformations, subspaces of Rn, linear spaces, orthogonality, least squares, determinants, eigenvalues, symmetric matrices, quadratic forms.

 

Grading Policy

 

Homework - 15%,

Midterms - 45%,

Final exam - 40%.

Exams for Section 2

 

The final exam for all sections of Math 0520 will be held at Salomon Centre, DECI Auditorium at 2pm on May 13th (Friday).

The exam is closed book (no lecture notes, no cheat sheets). Calculators are NOT allowed.
