Topics covered: 4.1,4.2,4.3,5.1,5.2,5.3,5.4 (you need to be able to derive Bessel's inequality, but you don't need the derivation of Parseval's equality),5.5(discluding "Gibbs phenomenon" but paying special attention to pointwise and uniform convergence of Fourier series) also Approximation kernel, Fejer kernel (which is not in the book), 6.1 (discluding "Invariance in three dimensions"), 6.2 (discluding the three-dimensional example).

Exam date: Wednesday, April 4
Exam time: 6pm-8pm. Exam place: Barus & Hollly, Room 159 Book policy: anything that you write (lecture notes, cheat sheets, homework) is permitted. Calculator is permitted but not necessary. Books are not permitted. |
Getting back: graded midterms are returned in class on Friday, Ferbruary 6.
