Grading
Policy This is a pass/no credit course.
*
QUIZZES. 6 quizzes count for 5%. Let Q be the percent for the quizzes (so
that 0<Q<5). *
HOMEWORK. Best 10 homework out of total 11 count for
10%. Let H be the percent for the homework (so that 0<H<10). * FIRST
MIDTERM. The first midterm is worth 20%, so let M1 be your percent for the
first midterm (so that 0<M1<20). *
SECOND MIDTERM. The second midterm is worth 25%, so let M2 be your percent
for the second midterm (so that 0<M2<25). *
FINAL. The final is worth 40%, so let F be your percent for the final (so
that 0<F<40);
If
Q+H+M1+M2+F>50 and F>20 then you pass the course. And
also even if you don’t satisfy the criteria above, but you are ‘close’ to it,
then you might pass the course (i.e. there might be some curving). Students with extremely good grades will get a
Satisfactory Credit with Distinction (roughly equivalent to getting an A on
the course). |
