Flatland Questions

Brooke Davis

Having read the first part of Flatland and enjoyed it, my three questions are as follows:

1)How does it rain in Flatland and not sweep away its inhabitants? It see ms to me that if everything is at the same level, and it were raining hard, the shapes would get carried off.

2)How was Flatland received by the religious community at the time it was published? (I am especially interested in the explanation of how an all-seeing God manages to see everything.)

3)When one of the female riots occurs, how do they dispose of the bodies afterwards?
