Dear Professor Huxley,
I must send you one or two words of most grateful
acknowledgment in return for your genial and welcome letter. I
confess I was only half reconciled to this sort of literary
work, and, what is more, I hardly like to like it. I find it
difficult too to keep my temper when controversialists almost
wilfully as it sometimes
