Lab 3: Local Theory of Space Curves
Introduction
The Local Theory of Space Curves lab extends the techniques developed in
the study of plane curves to curves in three-space. We begin by studying
the representation and a few basic properties of curves in three dimensions.
Local properties of curves are defined at particular points or in arbitrarily
small neighborhoods of points along the curve, while properties that depend
on the entire curve are called global. Local properties include the unit
tangent vector, the principal normal vector, and the Frenet frame.
