Lab 7: The Normal Map and Gaussian Curvature

Introduction

The Gaussian curvature, K(u,v), of a surface was defined in the previous lab. In this lab we discuss the properties of the Gaussian curvature for various types of surfaces. A large part of this lab consists of exercises designed to make you more familiar with Gaussian curvature.
