Lab 8: Normal and Geodesic Curvature

Introduction

This lab continues the exploration of the local theory of surfaces. To glean information about a surface at a point, we begin with a curve embedded in the surface that passes through that point. Eventually, we will see that the properties we derive are independent of the curve we choose; they only depend on the direction in which the curve goes.
