Title: The boundary of the arc complex

Abstract: We use train tracks to give a new proof of Klarreich's theorem: the boundary of the curve complex is homeomorphic to the space of ending laminations. The same techniques extend to give a homeomorphic characterization of the boundary of the arc complex. I'll define all of these things in a leisurely fashion and then, time permitting, give a sketch of the proof. Joint work with Alex Wickens.
