Course outline: Use tools developed in calculus to study curves and surfaces. We will cover most of chapters 1-6 and, time permitting, 7 and 8.

There will be homeworks collected weekly and one midterm.
The final grade will be weighted as follows: Homework 35%, midterm 25%, final 40%.

### Homework:

Late homework will not be accepted. The lowest homework grade will be dropped.

Page 9: 1.1.2, 1.1.4 (check the errata page for the correct formula), 1.1.5, 1.1.6. Explain how to use the parameterization in 1.1.5 to compute the area of the unit circle without using calculus or square roots.
