Title: Maps between surfaces.

Abstract : I will survey geometric properties of maps between surfaces. After presenting some history I will present recent results based on Thurston’s theory of best Lipshitz maps between surfaces that are joint works with Yi Huang, Ken’ichi Ohshika, Hideki Miyachi and Ismail Saglam.
