Title: Dynamics arising from moduli of geometric structures Abstract: The classification of locally homogeneous ("(G,X)-structures" in the spirit of Thurston and Ehresmann leads naturally to studying actions of mapping class groups on "character varieties". This talk will survey an ongoing project with Giovanni Forni, Carlos Matheus and Sean Lawton applying Teichmuller dynamics and the theory of translation surfaces to the classification problem for geometric structures.
