Triple-Point Twist

This surface is taken from a paper of Mond and Marrar, where they classify germs of functions by singularities. Here we have a parametric surface containing a triple point (and two pinch points). In this case, the surface is a ruled surface. The web site for Surfaces Beyond the Third Dimension includes several movie clips based on this surface. (There are movies for many of the other surfaces from the show as well.)
